Leavers, Labour and the Conservatives all pretend that leaving the EU will be painless. This despite the fact that HM Treasury predicts a 3.6% drop in GDP if we leave with a Free Trade Agreement (as Corbyn wants) or 6% drop if we leave on World Trade Organisation rules (as May threatens).
These are the figures:
and this is the size of the UK GDP
a 3.6% drop (Free Trade Agreement) is a drop of £69,826.93 (1000 million) or £69.8 Bn, a 6% drop (WTO) is £116,378.22 or £116.4 Bn.
WHAT DO THE BIG NUMBERS MEAN?
This is by Labour:
You could ALSO give the NHS staff a 2% pay rise (£1 bn) and fund the NHS properly.
WHERE IS THE LIE?
The labour figures in the graph above total of £2.6 Bn. How are they going to fund this if even the Free Trade Agreement they seek will cost £69.8 Bn? (The Tory policy is equally ridiculous, in fact the words are different but the goals are the same).
